Risk Legacy Returns

Schedules are hard to manage but we were able to get all our players together to return to play Risk Legacy.

WARNING - this blog post contains spoilers to Risk Legacy. Do not read if you are playing Risk Legacy and want to be surprised by possible outcomes in the game!

This was our tenth game of Risk Legacy and it's been about a year since we've started to play. The mission card drawn was the "World Capital" event - if someone collected a territory card with four or more coins on it, the player possessing it owned and named the world capital. There were only two cards in our deck that qualified and it was a pivotal moment in the game that led to James' victory.

DM cashed in cards to get thirty troops at a single time and this opened a new package.

The new package was the introduction of a new faction - the aliens! A new land mass appeared and DM's faction earned a "traitor to humanity" penalty but also a "accomplice to aliens" benefit.  It caused quite a stir and my daughter is dying to play the aliens now!

Here's a close-up of the traitors and their alien partners.
Here's a shot of the alien HQ - connecting Eastern US & Western Europe.
James hasn't decided the name for his world capital yet. It will be a big battle to see who gets the aliens and we'll all have to work hard to stop DM from winning too many more games and getting the privilege of naming the world. I don't know when we'll have time to reconnect - that's the only "problem" with Risk Legacy; you want to continue with the same group of players. Let's hope our schedules match enough to return to the crazy world!
